About the music and the songs on En Fugl Synger et Sted (: A bird is singing somewhere)
In 2007-2008 I composed the 4 Oscar Wilde songs from this CD. The first one of them, Requiescat, (Let her rest), is a song about grief on a cemetery. The poem hit me, since my ex-wife and the mother of my children, took her own life the year before – in 2006.
The other Wilde poems struck me with their incredibly beautiful and sonorous language. These songs were the first ones in a row of songs and lieder, composed directly to my oldest daughter, Nina, who at this time was studying to become a singer.
