Rarities of Piano Music at Schloss vor Husum 1995 â
Some festivals concentrate on contemporary music, and the depressing fact is that a first performance will also be the last performance. The choice of music for Husum is much wider. Inevitably much of it comes from the “Golden Age” of the 19th century romantics, but more recent as well as earlier pieces have been featured. It might be tempting to assume that this is bad music. However, there are many other possible reasons, such as changing fashions, the early death of a composer, or sheer technical difficulties.
