Inge Bønnerup
Inge Bønnerup, Danish organist (b. 1940), has since her debut in 1964 established herself as an organist of distinction through an extensive concert activity in Denmark and the other Scandinavian countries, England, Germany, France, Italy and Australia. Her repertory ranges from early Baroque to the organ music of our own day, with a preference for the music of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Inge Bønnerup has also given first performances of organ works by Danish composers, including Vagn Holmboe, Niels Viggo Bentzon, Leif Thybo, Jan Maegaard and others.
Since 1972 she has held the position of organist of the Trinitatis kirke (Church of the Trinity) in Copenhagen’s inner city, where she has been responsible for a programme of church music which has been much admired and widely appreciated, especially in the popular “come-in-from-the-street” concerts during the winter season. Inge Bønnerup has also made grammophone recordings and for several years, until 1989, she taught organ-playing at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
