In 2016, Tivoli-Garden commissioned a suite from David M.A.P. Palmquist, with five movements all intended to relate to Tivoli. He created a work that challenges the orchestra with mixed styles, shifting time signatures, and virtuosic passages. Street-urchin whistles, electric bass, City Hall chimes, and rifle shots are incorporated into the music, and the suite premiered at the Garden’s anniversary concert on August 27, 2016, in Tivoli’s Concert Hall.
