Pianists Cathrine Penderup and Tonya Lemoh formed The Copenhagen
Piano Duo in 2012 and the duo has since performed extensively in both
Denmark and Australia. Their first CD “Souvenirs” was released to
international critical acclaim in 2014, and features works by
Brahms, Granados, Barber and Satie.

This CD presents Gade’s complete works for piano duet: Opus 4, Opus 18, the two miniature
compositions Birthday Polonaise (”Fødselsdagpolonaise”, unknown for whom and when it’s
written) and Bridal – and Silver anniversary Waltz, (“Brude- og Sølvbryllupsvals”, written over a
fragment of the popular Bridal Waltz and including his musical signature, for the silver anniversary on
June 26th 1889 of tobacconist and art collector Heinrich Hirschsprung) as well as the Bridal Waltz
in an arrangement by Axel Grandjean, who was a student of Gade.
