It began as an experiment in 1987. After thirty
years the Husum festival, “Rarities of Piano
Music”, is still attracting keen support and the
programmes are as strong as ever. For the
thirtieth year, a special week included extra,
shorter, recitals in the “Young Explorers”
series and an evening of chamber music.
Given the high standard in every concert, it has
been particularly difficult to make up a CD of
highlights, given the limited playing time. We
have chosen quality above quantity and hope
that this single well-filled disc gives a small
indication of the riches on offer last year.
