This CD, like the preceding ones from the years 1989 to 1992 (DACOCD 349, 379, 389, 399), which forms an extract of live recordings taken from the 7th Festival of “Raritäten der Klaviermusik” (Rarities of Piano Music) at the “Schlolß vor Husum” (14th to 21stAugust 1993) – not only lends its arrangement to a more or less random selection of pieces but also to a dramaturgy based on this material., partlicularly with regrad to the order in which the pieces are played. The presentation of these recordings is naturally quite different from that of the actual festival. First of all this collection of rarely played single works is actually quite interesting. Moreover, after listening to the CD several times, many an illuminating and unexpected correlation between the pieces will emerge, something which has hardly been recognized this way before.
